The Museum of East Dorset is a historic house situated in Wimborne containing collections and themed exhibitions telling the fascinating stories of people who lived and worked in the area over the centuries.

The Brief

The Museum was previously known as the Priest’s House Museum. After a £1.8 million Revival Project it was renamed as the Museum of East Dorset and the Inspiration Agency won the pitch to create a new brand and website plus deliver PR and social media for the relaunch.

Branding

They required a new brand that reflected the modern refurbishment, whilst honouring the heritage of the site.

Design

The brand needed to be implemented consistently across many communication materials, internally and externally.

Website

They required a complex website with a lot of information as well as the ability to take payments for visits and for customers to book events.

PR and Social Media

They required a launch plan that communicated the new museum’s offerings both locally and nationally across on-line and off-line channels.

Brand

The new brand is based on the typography of the signage from when the building was an ironmongers. We created a set of logos in various layouts and formats for their ongoing use and a full set of brand guidelines to ensure the brand is always implemented correctly.

Design

We designed and printed a wide range of materials including stationery, flyers, posters and a visitors guide. We also implemented templates which the team use on an ongoing basis.

Website

We designed and coded a bespoke, responsive WordPress website to promote the website to various target audiences, including ecommerce functionality for visitor bookings, events, membership and donations
