How much is too much content for a flyer?

It depends on the size of the flyer really, but as most flyers are either A5 (half A4) or A6 (quarter A4) there is certainly a limit to how much text you want to use.

The first thing to remember is that the text on your flyer should be different sizes spending on the importance of the details.

  • The title or attention grabber should be largest
  • Details should be 8 – 12 point (depending on the font)
  • The Call To Action – Call, Book, Email should be between the title and details size
  • Any small print, other contact details, terms and conditions can be small – between 6 – 8 point

No flyers should really have more than 200 words, if you can’t get your message across in less than that then you need more than one flyer.

Don’t forget that if you do have quite a lot to say then you can use the back too. Double sided flyers are not twice the cost of single sided.

Be careful to leave plenty of room for logos and images – they are worth a thousand words!
